What is Montessori?
Montessori is a wonderful approach to teaching that focuses on the development of the “whole child.” It includes strategies developed by Dr. Maria Montessori as early as 1897. The Montessori Method is characterized by an emphasis on the child’s freedom within limits, independence, curiosity, and natural development.
At MMES, students use a wide variety of materials that help to develop their abilities in the following five areas: Practical Living, Sensory Development, Language, Mathematics, and Culture. In addition, students gain important skills while using these materials, including better focus, longer concentration, and positive determination. Students also learn Singing, Piano, Dance, Visual Art, and Drama.
Our classrooms are bright, clean, and well-equipped to support our students’ needs. MMES is a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable and supported by a team of calm, caring, and knowledgeable teachers.
