FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
What ages/grades does your school teach?
Our youngest students are 3 years old. We currently provide education for students up to Grade 3, with the probability of expanding to Grade 6 in the near future.
Do you follow the Ontario Curriculum?
We consider the Ontario Curriculum as a “starting point” for our program. We go above and beyond what is recommended by the Ministry of Education by offering an enriched academic and integrated arts program.
Are you a Montessori school?
We provide Montessori education to our students as part of our program. We are currently applicant members of CCMA (Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators).
What are your class sizes like?
We have small class sizes with a teacher student ratio of 10:1.
Do you provide lunch and snacks?
For an additional fee, students may opt into our lunch program. Our lunch provider is Food for Tots. They provide hot, nutritious lunches for our students. All students must bring 2 snacks and a refillable water bottle to school each day.
Do students have to wear uniforms?
Yes. Students wear uniforms from Monday – Thursday. Fridays are considered “casual dress days” and students may choose their own clothing. Parents are responsible for purchasing uniforms from a nearby store (we provide the shopping lists and requirements).
What languages do students learn and speak at school?
Most instruction is in English. Students are taught French daily through the AIM program. This program teaches French through gestures, drama, and song and helps students quickly develop an understanding of French vocabulary. Students also have a weekly lesson in Chinese.
Is there anyone at school who can speak my language?
We have teachers on staff who speak Mandarin and Cantonese. If it makes you more comfortable, please feel free to bring a translator during registration interviews and parent-teacher conferences.
